A Swiss Digital Pioneer in South Africa

Karin Stierlin is breaking sexual taboos in South Africa. With her app Love Land, she creates a safe space for education about contraception, menstruation, and sexually transmitted infections.

I discovered journalism while studying media and communication sciences. Even today, I still enjoy working as a journalist on topics that are close to my heart.

This spring I visited a school in the township of Langa with Karin Stierlin. The sex educator uses new technologies to break through the silence and unease that surrounds sex education in many places. My report from Cape Town was published on Swissinfo in seven languages.
